Measuring female sexuality by genital arousal doesn’t work like it does with most men. And that depresses me, like do I even want to know how we evolved to be like this? Once you realize that sex isn’t always love-making it starts to feel like women get the shorter end of the stick from a biological standpoint.
Because basically what we have is an entire sex that evolved to survive sexual assault while the other sex consistently transgresses and remains unchanged. I don’t think I’ll ever understand what makes rapists aroused. No explanation ever made sense to me. I feel like it’s one of those things I’ll never find out. We’ve established that victims of rape don’t feel aroused because they like it, it’s their body trying to protect them from tears and trauma. But why’s the rapist aroused? Why did natural selection not take care of them if humans are such social creatures?
